SP Green Hornets finish pool play 4-o with a 2-run victory of the Norther Calvert Fury.
Belle Richmond pitched a complete game, allowing just 2 runs in the Hornets' 4-2 win. Behind solid defense and strong pitching, the Hornets were able to collect eight hits on their way to their fourth win of the day. The win was Richmond's second in pool play at the USSSA Fall Brawl, after going 4 innings against the Shockwave in a 12-1 victory earlier in the day.
Julia Duvall got the Hornets off to a strong start in the circle as the Hornets needed just three innings to record a 13-0 win against DMV Dream Gold to open pool play. Duvall allowed just two hits and racked up six strike outs against DMV, adding four more Ks in her second win of the day against the SOMD Ospreys.
Both Duvall and Richmond helped themselves at the plate, collecting four hits apiece on the day. Tori Dantinne, Rowan Hass, and Andrea Rom contributed five hits each, while third baseman Emelyse Carney racked up six hits for the Hornets.
Dantinne led SP with 5 RBI and her 6 runs scored put her right behind Rom on the day (7), who also led the team in extra base hits (2 doubles, 1 triple).
Rain overnight forced a cancellation of Sunday's elimination games with the Hornets finishing in second place based on a tiebreaker. The team returns to action on October 11th in the USA One Champion 2026 National Qualifier.
